Duties

  • Acts as the single point of contact for the case team, Litigation Support, IS and vendors involved with a specific matter
  • Works closely with the litigation support analysts, vendors and case team to ensure accurate and timely completion of all requests Assigns and supervises work performed by Litigation Support Analysts
  • Conducts project design meetings with case teams
  • Day to day management and execution of litigation support strategy, work plan, and budgets
  • Evaluates costs of eDiscovery management, creates processes, checklists, and forms to provide overall guidance to attorneys, paralegals, and clients
  • Advises case teams on database design, data collecting (including ESI) and processing options, including vendor selection for outsourced processing and hosting solutions
  • For outsourced projects, ensures scope and volume of work follows original Statement of Work and ensures that changes impacting cost/budget are communicated and approved by client
  • Identifies training needs and ensuring that all client training is conducted as needed
  • Ensures that all work is quality-checked and problems are resolved appropriately
  • Conducts research and evaluates practice support software in order to make recommendations on the best software options for the firm
  • Monitors progress and ensures that project deliverables are accurate and timely
  • Actively mentors and develops more junior team members; may assign and delegate project work and tasks
  • Develops and provides comprehensive project documentation, reporting and project metrics
  • Assists in developing/maintaining Best Practice and Workflow procedures for the department
  • Assists case teams with creating presentations for trial, arbitration or mediation

Required

  • At least 5+ years’ experience in litigation support at a major law firm
  • At least 2+ years’ Project Management experience
  • Must have and be willing to work hands on as the face of the litigation support department for the D.C. office as well as serve as a role model and mentor for analysts and other team members
  • Extensive understanding of the litigation process
  • Must have experience working with litigation support  technology including Concordance, FYI, IPRO, Opticon, MS-Access, the CaseSoft suite, LiveNote, Sanction and/or TrialDirector
  • Demonstrated knowledge of e-discovery issues and an understanding of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure
