Duties
|
SUMMARY
As a member of the real estate post-closing team which represents numerous financial institutional clients in closing a high volume of commercial multi-family loans. The position is responsible for the quality control and timely delivery of loans to Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, borrowers, lenders and related counsel.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Forward documents to lenders, borrowers and other counsel.
- Work with various parties to resolve post-closing issues that arise.
- Organize and maintain files and retain original and final documents.
- Work with the firms internal Office Services staff or outside providers to produce CDs and/or closing binders
- Upload final deliveries to Freddie Macs Document Management System (DMS)
- Upload final deliveries to Prudentials PruXchange Document System
- Quality control closed matters
- Ensure compliance with all required document formats, guidelines and deadlines for investors and clients.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals and other team members to ensure consistency.
- Oversee the delivery of timely and accurate loan documents to lenders, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, borrowers and their respective counsel.
- Prepare and review loan delivery packages.
- Function as the secondary contact for Agency and clients on post-closing issues that arise.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 5+Experience working for a law firm, lender or agency
- Experience in and knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan requirements
- Proven knowledge of the lending and delivery requirements of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise a high standard of judgment and discretion
- The ability to multitask, work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Detail oriented work manner with excellent problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Flexibility for overtime, as needed

- Assist with the preparation of architect and construction contracts for new and renovation design of commercial and residential properties
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 4+ years of business finance, secured lending and commercial real estate paralegal experience within a law firm
- Demonstrated experience with UCC filings, titles and construction lease agreements
- Knowledge of switch facility leases, warehouse financings and mortgage, forbearance and restructuring matters a plus!
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Working knowledge of ACRIS, Concordance, Carpe Diem and Hummingbird – or comparable software/filing systems
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate preferred

Summary
A mid-sized law firm is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to join their Long Island Office and support the Finance and Real Estate Practice Group. Someone with experience assisting attorneys with matters related to the acquisition and financing of capital assets, including real property, equipment and major capital improvements.
