Conflicts Analyst
Silicon Valley, CA

The Organization: Major U.S. Multinational Law Firm
Responsibilities
- Understand and perform the analysis and research process on all conflict searches
- Perform daily operations of New Business Intake system; including review of intake requests for accuracy and completeness
- Verify that all searching is complete, consistent, and accurate and that all Firm conflicts procedures have been followed
- Assist in the identification of potential conflicts of interest; select, analyze and remove irrelevant information to produce Conflict Check Reports
- Create a well-organized written analysis for attorneys
- Process requests for conflicts searches, perform necessary research, and complete business intake forms
- Follow up on conflict issues with department colleagues and attorneys, when necessary
- Collaborate with team members on conflicts searches and projects, with attention to deadlines and time-sensitive issues
- Contribute to process, procedure, and technology improvements in order to reduce risk and improve efficiency
- Assist in the development and training of other Conflicts Analysts
- Conduct special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred
- 1+ year of conflicts experience in a Law Firm
- Understanding of conflict program Intapp Open
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and function under pressure
- Ability to communicate effectively, dispassionately and diplomatically
- Must have advanced proficiency working in MS Word
- Excellent attendance, punctual and flexible to work overtime
- Ability to collaborate smoothly with many other people and departments
- Detail oriented with strong day-to-day organizational skills
- Ability to be proactive, organize and prioritize work and perform multiple tasks simultaneously

Conflicts Analyst

LOCATION: New York, New York – Midtown Manhattan

SUMMARY:
This person is a known leader, skilled in project management, research, analysis and persuasive writing. Someone with highly effective communication and business acumen, who is interested in collaborating with Executive Committee Members and a team of award winning Attorneys to provide outstanding service and account management to a very prominent global clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure client engagement and waiver letters are properly set up and executed
- Review and analyze complex contracts to evaluate accuracy and compliance of client data, scope of legal services and outlined fees, expenses and billing practices
- Perform on-going research and analysis of new and existing client accounts, monitoring for future client conflicts
- Summarize conflicts resolution process in writing and deliver results to submitting attorney or to business review partners
- Actively update files in accordance with client and firm billing guidelines and KYC / AML compliance regulatory requirements
- Serve as the liaison to Partners, Clients and Staff
- Oversee multiple, complex client / matter analysis projects
- Perform ad hoc analysis projects as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of experience working with complex attorney engagement and waiver letters
- Strong proficiency with MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills
- Bachelor's degree

Conflicts Analyst

SUMMARY:
The Conflicts Analyst is primarily responsible for generating and analyzing conflicts of interest reports for clients, matters and incoming lawyers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use internal and external databases to conduct factual research relating to resolution of potential conflicts issues
- Analyze and process information gathered from searches
- Summarize conflicts resolution process in writing and deliver results to submitting attorney or to business review partners
- Review conflicts questionnaires for incoming attorneys and generating the necessary conflicts reports, creating ethical walls as necessary
- Update and maintaining conflicts of interest database; assisting in maintenance of waiver letter files and engagement letter files
- Assign client-matter numbers to new matters and distributing them to other departments
- Process the New Business Matters and Conflict Checks
- Perform indexing, Boolean searches and database retrievals
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of legal conflicts experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience with automated new business intake systems highly desirable
- Knowledge of D&B Family Tree Finder, Moody’s, Conflicts Module in FileSurf, LegalKey or comparable database
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several tasks simultaneously
- Ability to be proactive and problem solve
- Detail-oriented work manner and willingness to learn new tasks
- Ability to maintain a “can do” attitude
- Strong ability to work well under minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work overtime in order to meet urgent deadlines
